Yesterday…
Son #4 had a milestone birthday.
He is officially 13.
In our house…
that can look very different than many.
He still has his dog.
He is a loyal brother…
and best friend.
There is a refreshing innocence about him…
and yet he is a diligent student..
and loves to learn.
Easy going…
with a tremendous sense of humor…
he possesses an introspective side…
that I’ve seen before…
not only in his older siblings…
but my own brother at his age.
Such a delight and privilege…
to be his mom!
When the band…
called you by name and played Happy Birthday…
at one of our favorite restaurants…
you just sat and smiled.
Moving from childhood to young adulthood…
you show compassion and grace to all around you.
It’s going to be a great year.
Where did they go?

Have I ever mentioned that #4 is one of my favorite Helms boys. Good natured and sweet and always full of information on subjects I know nothing about! I hope he had a great day!

LOVE the white photo of all the boys. AND, the Nacho Libre photo! Classic! (Okay, maybe he didn’t mean to look like Nacho, but I think he does and we LOVE “Nachooooo” at our house!)

He was Nacho alright! And…it was such an incredible hit, he did it back-to-back two Halloween Festivals in a row! People stopped him to take photos with him! XO, ;0)

How can he be 13 already?!?!? Seems like not too long ago he and Dog (with his vampire teeth) fell asleep on my lap at Claim Jumper (I have that photo of us on my desk)! Please tell him Happy Birthday for me and give him a HUGE hug!!!
