This is where I will be tomorrow. Gulp. Yes, it is beautiful, tropical, and amazing. It is Captiva Island, Florida, home of the Beech Retreat Blogging Conference. It was an amazing combined gift from the Hero Hubby to me over the holidays. As I say over and over, perception is a dangerous thing. Many people think that I am technology savvy. Um…no. I have a lot of help when necessary. This conference promises to be beyond amazing and the speaker line up is incredible! One of the boys is doing a very brave thing right now (which I hope to share about later), so apparently, it is in order.
I want to model the ability to step outside of one’s comfort zone, because in life, that is definitely where the majority of amazing things lie!
Also at the prompting of the same Hero Hubby, I am stopping in Chicago on my way home to visit with some of my brother Tim’s closest friends, the Marinaces. Well…they’re my friends too! Can you say gourmet?
Yep, pretty amazing opportunities all the way around. I am blessed. And nervous. And somewhat terrified.
But I’m also excited!
Could it be that I am leaving as Wilma Flintstone and will return as Steve Jobs’s cousin?
While it’s a stretch, I’m sure I will benefit tremendously on all counts.
Yes, bravery is always a good thing to aspire to…especially when one of your kids goes first!

You may still be Wilma when you return, but you might have a great tan…. Have a wonderfully refreshing trip my dear friend…. You deserve it! And as far as your son is concerned, he’s destined for greatness and I say that without knowing which one it is….!

Wishing you joy in this new experience! I hate doing new things, but I love how I feel once I’ve conquered my fear.

Wish I could have joined you and been roomies. On the bright side, you will learn so much more since I won’t be there distracting you since we both know our table commentary would get us in trouble.
Have FUN!!
