Thanks so much, Temecula!

On Saturday, I spent the day in Temecula…

teaching at a one day seminar…

as a precursor to the Face to Face #2 that is scheduled there in September.

It was such a privilege to be with this amazing group of folks!

We took this picture and my only regret…

is that I didn’t think to do it before lots of people left!

The time I spent preparing for this has proven to be such a valuable reminder…

when it comes to the “Hows” and the “Whys” of Thomas Jefferson Education.

When you take away all of the honest default behaviors…

that we all tend to revert to…

whether we’ve practiced this method for 5 months or 20 years…

it is so amazingly simple.

Not easy…

simple.

There are 4 Phases…

and 7 Keys.

Well, 8…

if you count Angela Baker’s “Relaxed, Not Stressed.”

No need to watch Oprah or Dr. Phil to “get the answers”…

you can simply open “A Thomas Jefferson Education”…

or “A Leadership Education”…

and assess your challenges up against these very organic, basic principles.

The answers you’re looking for…

will come to you very clearly each and every time.

I’m thankful for Dr. Oliver DeMille and Dr. Shanon Brooks…

who have devoted most of their lives to studying, teaching…

and then applying these principles.

I’m thankful for people like The Lundquist and McLaughlin families…

who step out and lead…

in order to continue to build and strengthen community.

Perhaps you’re looking for some great reading this summer.

May I suggest both “A Thomas Jefferson Education”…

and “A Leadership Education?”

I understand that many of you have read them before.

But it never hurts to revisit greatness…

and the classics.

Besides,  you’re definitely a different person today…

than you were when you last read them.

For those of you that are just beginning your journey…

welcome aboard!

And remember…

Leadership Education is the only system that perpetuates FREEDOM!

Moving ahead with You, Not Them…

will help to let it ring!

On Joy…from a reliable source

” If you are joyful, it will shine in your eyes and in your look, in your conversation and in your countenance.  You will not be able to hide it because joy overflows.

Joy must be one of the pivots of our life.  It is the token of a generous personality. Sometimes it is also a mantle that clothes a life of sacrifice and self-giving.  A person who has this gift often reaches high summits.  He or she is like a sun in a community.” ~ Mother Teresa

How’s your joy barometer these days?

Whew! So Sorry About That!

At the end of last week, I had promised…

that on Wednesday…

I would announce the winner of the scholarship…

that TommyMom was offering to this weekend’s Leadership Education symposium…

in Temecula, California.

POOF! I promptly forgot!

I tell Sons #1-#5 all of the time…

that mentally, I am constantly in a static mode…

called dump or recall/replace.

And I must choose the more qualified option consistently.

For instance…

do I dump the 50 States and their positions in the United States in favor of…

let’s say, whether or not Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will eventually break up?

Hmmm…

It not only keeps them on their toes…

it terrifies them!

Most of the time.

Consequently…

they have been downright worried for years as to how they will ultimately turn out…

with just such an influence in their lives!

I must’ve had one of “those” moments…

when I failed to announce…

that Christy Gandara is our lucky winner!

I happen to know that Christy is already registered to attend…

so Christy, you may either choose to be reimbursed compliments of TommyMom

or drag bring someone else along to hear Erik Lundquist and me speak!

Hope everyone’s Thursday is great!

p.s.  Now is your chance to make meaningless, benign comments with this extra post to possibly win the necklace!
Knock yourselves out!

And if you’d like to attend the conference, e-mail Jennifer at jmclaugh08@yahoo.com

“Country First”, Artificial Stupidity and What About College?

My friend Michelle Moran, is pretty much everything that I’m not.

Graceful, soft spoken…

one of those people that could pull off being a runway model on twenty minutes notice because of the way that they always carry themselves…you get the idea!

She also happens to be a very talented jewelry designer…

and an almost-from-day-one avid supporter of TommyMom.

She made this beautiful necklace last year, and I simply “had to have it!”

I can’t tell you how many people stop me and ask me where I got it.

I believe that most Americans are really exceptional people.

And that they define patriotism.

“Patriotism means to stand by the country.  It does not mean to stand by the President.” ~ T. Roosevelt

I think that we’ve fallen into a trap of  taking freedom for granted…

and not thinking that it always costs us something.

We’ve become a nation of polarized people…

with a chasm between “both sides of the aisle.”

Whatever that “aisle” means.

The next time you’re tempted to blurt something out…

without really thinking…

how about asking yourself if it is honestly in the best interest of our country?

I’m not talking about taking stands for what is right…

I’m talking about honestly seeing the person next to you as an American…

that more than likely loves this country as much as you do…

and making an effort to not polarize them as a human being.

We the people…

make or break our country.

Michelle has generously donated this necklace to TommyMom as a giveaway!

All you have to do is read the articles in the two links below…

and leave your comments.

Each and every comment…

from any and all posts this next week…

counts towards an entry to win this beautiful sterling and hammered copper necklace.

It doesn’t get any easier than this!

You have until next Wednesday to get it done!

I read this article over the long weekend…

as well as this one.

The first had really interesting, thought provoking information and statistics; as well as interesting points of view.

The second is one opinion…

but is undeniably in favor of Leadership Education principles being practiced.

Actually, they both are.

The need for; as well as the practice of, Leadership Education principles is all around you.

You just need to look and continue your own journey and pursuit…

through personal study and application.

I’m anxious to hear your comments after you’ve taken time to read the articles as well!

They’re not lengthy…

but give great opportunity for thought.

And I want to hear yours!

Happy Reading!TeriSig
