Fear of failure often holds me captive. I get so caught up in the what ifs that I end up failing to reach my goal because I never had the courage to try. This is particularly pointed to me today as I stand on the precipice of a new adventure, again facing the fears of what if I fail?! I don't think I've ever seen Predident Lincoln's history in that light before and it was really clear that he embraced the failure and grew from it. Thanks for that lesson!

Hi I just was told about your blog earlier this morning and was reading this and that of previous posts. I went to google Tim Driver as his name is typed in a different color but there is no link. Is this Tim Driver the sweet man that passed away in Sept? This is the article I am referring to: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/highschoolsports/2016241053_driver18.html

Thank you for sharing his story of Nathan and Austin. It is truly a touching one.
Thank you.
Andrea in Calif.

Thought-provoking quotes! The first one stood out to me most today...and a lesson for young people (and for all) as they choose connections and friendships. Beautiful Teri!

Nicely done #4.
I've just had my fourth baby and during the last couple of months of pregnancy and first couple of months of her life I've worked my way through the complete works of Jane Austen, published and unpublished! Her letters, private works she did for a laugh, her History of England, incomplete novels that I long to be completed and yet having read all the published ones as well I could recognize the lack of the spark of genius in the works that never made it to the printing press. I've never been one to go with the crowd and I don't do it on purpose, but it wasn't P and P or S and S that has become my favorite, but Persuasion. My mother has probably read all the Austens 15 times each and when I spoke to her about Persuasion and how deeply it touched me she made the wonderful comment, 'well, it's a study on suffering and triumphing through it.' I'm now going through the film/TV versions of it and realize how difficult it is to capture such depth of feeling visually. There have been wonderful adaptations of some of the other works, nothing comparable to the books, but very good none the less. So I'm wondering if my next adventure is trying to understand the differences and relationships between the imagined and the seen. My mission, by the way, is to tell stories through film and music, those worth telling anyway.

HURRAW!!! They are already here and I have one in my pocket replacing the strawberry chapstick that usually resides there. I didn't even pay for the faster shipping and there they were looking all pretty in my mailbox this morning. So far I've only tried the Grapefuit but I'm in LOVE
